FODC – Launch Of Outdoor Fitness Challenge Programme
Fermanagh & Omagh District Council has launched details of a new health and exercise initiative, ‘Outdoor Fitness Challenge Programme’ for the Fermanagh area. The 12 week programme, which started on Sunday 23 August 2015, has been funded under the Public Health Agency’s (PHA) Healthy Towns Programme. The programme will be delivered by Fermanagh & Omagh District Council coaches who will provide professional training, support and advice. The ‘Outdoor Fitness Challenge’ programme is aimed primarily at people who are inactive and who find taking exercise difficult. The programme focuses on building up physical activity in a gradual and healthy way and integrating it into an everyday routine.
The outdoor fitness challenge programme will use 3 Outdoor Gym facilities and recreation areas around County Fermanagh for physical activity sessions. Sessions will be delivered on Sundays in Enniskillen at the Round ‘O’ at 11.00 am, Derrygonnelly at 1.00 pm and Belcoo at 3.00 pm. Sessions will last an hour and a half. Participants will be admitted to the programme only after completing a health screening assessment.
