‘Clinking Cups Coffee Stop’ opens in Derrygonnelly

The ‘Clinking Cups Coffee Stop’ is a new community initiative borne by the We Go Together Support Group in response to requests for a social meeting place in our community. ‘Clinking Cups’ opened its doors on Tuesday 1st March in the Cosy Bar on Derrygonnelly Main Street.

Their opening hours are Monday to Thursday between 10am and 1.30pm, and a selection of hot beverages and scones are available. Payment is in the form of voluntary donations, and

all proceeds go towards the advancement of the We Go Together Support Group’s objects and aims.

The We Go Together Support Group was officially established in June 2014 with the aim of helping to improve the lives of people in our community who are affected in any way by cancer or other serious illness. They offer practical and emotional support to patients and their families and offer the opportunity to come together to share experiences, receive support, friendship and understanding during difficult times.

The Support Group also hosts health awareness talks with guests speakers and signposts people to specific services. Click here for their facebook page.

If you would like to become involved with the Group or have a few hours a week or month spare and would like to volunteer for the Group, please contact them by leaving your details with “The Clinking Cups” volunteers.

The Derrygonnelly & District Community Partnership would like to extend their congratulations and best wishes to the We Go Together Support Group and Graham Kent  for this worth-while venture, and we hope the people in our community gets behind        the project and help to make it a success.
