Spring Activity Programme
A free two-day programme of outdoor activities for children and adults will take place on 12 & 14 March 2016.
The ‘Spring Activity Programme’, organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council in partnership with Waterways Ireland and the Department of Culture Arts and Leisure (DCAL) includes free angling, canoeing and guided walk opportunities.
Angling for young people aged 8-16 years old
Angling sessions will take place in Enniskillen on Saturday 12 March at 10 am and 1 pm. Each session lasts two-hours and will be delivered in partnership with DCAL Inland Fisheries.
Canoeing for young people aged 8-16 years old
Canoeing sessions will take place in Enniskillen on Saturday 12 March at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm. The 90-minute sessions will be delivered by Erne Paddlers.
Equipment necessary to take part in angling or canoeing sessions will be provided on the day.
Fermanagh Spring Walking Festival
A Spring Walking Festival will also take place on Saturday 12 March within the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark.
Guided walks will include:
– Cuilcagh mountain trek for adults departing at 9 am
– Bilingual walk with Irish language and English suitable for families starting at 10 am
– Family Scavenger Hunt through the Cladagh Glen at 2 pm, where participants will meet people from the past, make their own fossil, search for mini-beasts and much more
The Spring Activity Programme will come to a close on Monday 14 March with an Inclusive walk at the Lough Erne Resort, Enniskillen. Walks will take place throughout the day with the first walk starting at 10.15 am.
All activities are free however places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
